About the Youth Institute

The Town of Babylon Youth Court is facilitated under the auspices of the Babylon Youth Institute which was created in 1979 as an independent, not-for-profit agency for the purpose of organizing, operating and maintaining development programs for youth residing in the Town of Babylon. A Board of Directors, chaired by Babylon Town Supervisor Steve Bellone, oversees the agency.

The Youth Court is comprised of a very distinguished group of citizens which include Judge Dennis Cohen, Judge John Iliou, Judge Toni Bean, Judge Joe Santorelli, William DeVore, Deputy Bureau Chief of the District Court Bureau, Cynthia McBarnette, Supervising Probation Officer for Suffolk County,

Lt. Tom Kelly, , Suffolk County First Precinct, Jim Campbell, Assistant Principal, Lindenhurst Public Schools, Errol Williams, attorney and civic president,
